The California Outdoors Hall of Fame inducts 6 new membersby e4Staff
 Joe 'Sep' Hendrickson, Il Ling New, and James Adams
The ceremony took place at the International Sportsmen's Expo held in Sacramento on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
Tom Stienstra, the famous outdoor writer and Hall member himself, emceed the ceremony.
Sep Hendrickson is a tackle inventor, radio host and executive of California Inland Fisheries Foundation, Inc.
Il Ling New is America's No 1 female firearms/hunting instructor and hunter.
James Adams is a fisheries biologist with a passion for Fly Fishing and its techniques and history.
Scott Williamson (not shown) is a renown wilderness hiker and inspirational outdoorsman.
Inducted posthumously:
Frederick Law Olstead, the father of of American landscape architecture and parks
Bill Schaadt was one of the world's top fly-fishers.

Top Lining For Lake Berryessa Troutby Abe Cuanang
It was two days before Thanksgiving and I
had been suffering from the effects of cabin fever, but luckily a good
charge of adrenalin quickly took care of the malady. My dose of
adrenalin came about after my brother Angelo scooped a beautiful
two-pound rainbow trout. Sleek and muscular, this athletic fish took
off on short spirited runs, and then capped the show with an aerial
two-foot leap.

My hunting season started with a break instead of a bang. I had not drawn my usual Wyoming deer tag so I decided to try a hunt in the Sawtooth Mountain Wilderness area of Idaho. A Friend and I hired a packer to take us into a remote area and leave us for a few days, of what we expected to be a relaxing, spot and stalk, Mule Deer hunt. The trip in was uneventful with good weather and a very pleasant two to three hour horse ride to reach camp. We arrived in the afternoon and spent the time from then until dark getting camp ready and preparing for the following day's hunt. The next morning my friend wanted to hunt the low land along the creek, we had camped on, so I opted to climb up some nearby mountain ridges to see what I could see. The ridges were much higher and steeper than what I had anticipated, so it took me until around 10:00...;
